Dr. Ma was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary before earning his medical degree from the University of Alberta in 2022. He then returned to Calgary to complete his Family Medicine residency at the University of Calgary, graduating in 2024. Following residency, Dr. Ma joined Vivo Cura Health, where he pursued additional training in Sport and Exercise Medicine, earning his Sport Medicine Diploma in July 2026.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dr. Ma has a particular interest in basketball and volleyball. Prior to pursuing medicine, he was actively involved in coaching basketball and strength and conditioning. His enthusiasm for sport and exercise naturally led him to Sport Medicine, where he enjoys helping patients recover from injury, return to the activities they love, and improve their overall quality of life.
