Dr. Duce is originally from southern Alberta and attended the University of Calgary where he completed both his medical degree (2019) and family medicine residency training (2021). He then went on to complete a fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 2022. During his fellowship, he trained in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and pain management including both acute and degenerative conditions. He also provided medical care for the elite athletes involved with the Golden Bears and Pandas athletics programs for both family medicine and sport medicine related issues.
In his current practice, he sees patients of all ages regarding musculoskeletal concerns including both appendicular and axial complaints. He is proficient in the use of ultrasound to provide targeted injections for pain management and as an adjunct to recovery. He also has an interest in non-pharmacologic sleep medicine and recovery.
Dr. Duce is passionate about helping people of all ages to improve their quality of life though self empowerment and education and a holistic approach to medical issues. He is a member of the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine, as well as the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. Prior to medical practice, he was a practicing lawyer and continues to hold membership with the Law Society of Alberta as an inactive member.
