Dr. Mares completed his medical school and residency at Université de Montréal, graduating on the Dean’s List and serving as Chief Senior Resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in chronic pain at McGill University, further developing his expertise in complex pain management.

Dr. Mares currently practices at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and holds an academic appointment with Université de Montréal, where he is actively involved in the residency program and contributes to medical education. He is also a member of the Royal College examination committee and participates in ongoing clinical research. His clinical and research focus is interventional pain management, with a particular emphasis on spinal conditions and procedures.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Mares enjoys spending time with his family at their cottage, being out on the lake, and playing with his many Milwakee in his garage.
