Dr. Shepherd obtained both his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Doctor of Medicine at Western University in London, Ontario. Following this, he has done residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta, which will be complete in June/2024. He is in the process of finishing examinations to be certified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has also completed extra training to perform electrodiagnostic nerve testing for neuromuscular disease, and will be obtaining his diplomate (EMG) with the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN).
He has additional training in ultrasound and fluoroscopic image-guided interventional procedures. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine, neuromuscular disease, interventional pain management, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and spasticity management. His personal interests include trail running with his dog, rock climbing, and snowboarding.
