Summer, a native of Calgary, AB, graduated from Mount Royal University with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education BHPE, majoring in Athletic Therapy in the spring of 2022. She completed her board certification exam in December 2022.

Summer’s upbringing involved active participation in a range of sports, including soccer, volleyball, softball, and competitive dance for 14 years. She transitioned from being an athlete to working with high-level athletes, gaining experience with the St. Mary’s basketball and the University of Calgary football teams during both in-season fieldwork and off-season strength and conditioning sessions. Summer emphasizes the importance of establishing strong patient rapport to motivate and instill confidence in the rehabilitation process, facilitating a smooth return to daily activities and sports. She firmly believes in the role of exercise rehabilitation in promoting recovery and athletic longevity.

Summer is actively involved in various sports and teams, including the Bandits Junior B lacrosse, Bantam and spring football, volleyball, and field hockey. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, particularly during vacations.
