The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges to both healthcare providers and patients, but pain doesn’t stop for a virus. That is why we are still open treating pain patients who require care while taking extra precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
For patients who are vulnerable or high-risk:
We are still able to help vulnerable patients through various options:
- Protected Appointment Times – Dedicated time-slots at the beginning or end of the day, when fewer people are in the clinic.
- Virtual Appointments – We continue to provide high-quality assessments and physiotherapy virtually.
- Future Appointment Dates – When visiting the clinic in person right now isn’t an option, we provide future placeholder appointments that can be rescheduled for the patient’s convenience and safety.
Extra COVID-19 Safety Measures at Vivo Cura Taken to Minimize Risk of Infection:
- Only patients that pass COVID-19 screening are permitted into the clinic.
- Vivo Cura staff are required to wear appropriate PPE (masks/gloves). Patients are asked to wear masks (if needed, we can provide one).
- Patients are being staged throughout the clinic quickly to limit contact with each other.
- Increased disinfecting of critical surfaces throughout the day
- Hospital-grade end-of-day cleaning
- Requirement for all patients to wash their hands thoroughly upon arriving to and departing from the clinic
- Strict adherence to AHS hand washing guidelines by all staff
- Drivers of patients are required to wait in the car.
- Infection prevention training conducted by AHS staff for Vivo Cura Health
Even as lockdown restrictions are lifted, we will continue to do as much as we can to minimize risk to COVID-19 exposure.
